Violence Prevention through Outreach, Intervention, Community Cohesion & Education to Promote Safety
The VOICES of Mercer program provides support to youth and their families who are experiencing violence within their communities. Our goal is to create a safer environment and help people build stronger, healthier lives. We offer services in both English & Spanish to make sure all families can get the help they need.
We believe that by working together, we can build a stronger, safer community for everyone. We offer:
Tailored Services to Special Populations
- Children ages 6-14 residing in gang involved territories
- Children & families ages 6-34 at risk for engaging or re-engaging in violent behavior and those affected by community violence
Free Case Management
- Children and families can work with experienced case managers to address their needs
- Bilingual case managers
- Partnerships with additional organizations to streamline any needed referrals
Free Mental Health Services
- Services for children, youth and families from a licensed clinician
- Services provided on site and off site in collaboration with other organizations, programs & agencies
Youth Engagement and Leadership
- Youth will learn protective skills to avoid problematic behavior
- Create and provide curriculum on violence prevention and intervention to elementary and intermediate students
Community Partnerships
- VOICES works with local organizations to ensure families have access to additional resources
- VOICES staff promote and participate in community building events
