Bishop O’Connell Visits El Centro
What started out as a quiet Monday morning turned into an exciting and lively event when the Most Reverend David M. O’Connell, Bishop of the Diocese of Trenton, made a surprise visit to El Centro, located on the Sacred Heart campus in downtown Trenton.
“I am here to learn more about what El Centro does and to encourage your emphasis on ESL classes and providing other types of assistance to help newcomers adapt and become self-sufficient,” said Bishop O’Connell. He then engaged in a conversation with El Centro’s director, Roberto Hernandez (pictured far left, at right) regarding ways to better serve the pastoral needs of Hispanic Catholics and addressed an ESL class in session during his visit.
