Taking an Active Role in Ending Homelessness
On January 25th, members of our Community Services team participated in the Point-In-Time (PIT) Count, visiting various locations around Mercer County to count and collect information from people experiencing homelessness. We are helping identify how many households are affected, where people find shelter, what their needs are and what factors have contributed to their being homeless.
Catholic Charities is a member of the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness and is a part of the Trenton/Mercer Continuum of Care. This information collected this evening will be used to help better allocate housing resources in the future.
In addition to counting, the individuals encountered by our team received a care package containing food, a flashlight and toiletry items.
