Family-strengthening programs in Mercer expand to Ewing

Several Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton family-strengthening programs based in Mercer County have expanded to a new location in Ewing.

The new office opened April 8 in a sprawling, ground-floor, 6,000-square-foot office space in the Scotch Plaza at 1239 Parkway Ave.

The programs that moved, which are part of Catholic Charities’ Children and Family Services, include the Family Growth program and its outpatient services, as well as foster care support programs including Natural Parent Support and In-Home Foster Care Support. Family Growth serves children and families affected by violence and abuse. Natural Parent Support assists families reunited after being separated by foster care.

The programs were formerly located in a three-story brick building at 39 N. Clinton Ave., Trenton.

The new office includes a group room for classes on anger management and parenting; art and play therapy rooms; expanded space for family and individual counseling and staff offices; and free parking. The facility is easily accessible from Interstates 95 and 295, Route 29, major routes from Trenton, and public transit.

All programs serve anyone in need, regardless of religious or socioeconomic background.
