The Early Intervention Support Service (EISS) run by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton has officially relocated its program to 1225-1255 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road in Hamilton. The EISS program, one of the first established in New Jersey, opened its doors on Cass Street in Trenton in 2014. According to Karalee Pieluc, EISS director, “The new location of this crisis intervention program has made it more accessible to those in the suburbs but it is located along a bus route connecting it to city residents as well.” Services are offered in both English and Spanish to adults 18 years and older.

EISS offers crisis screening and counseling services including individual counseling, medication prescribing and monitoring, psychiatric consultation, support groups and referrals for follow up services. The staff is comprised of a psychiatric advanced practice nurse, licensed clinicians including a substance abuse clinician, case manager and peer specialists. The hours of operation are Mondays-Saturdays 8a-9p and Sundays 10a-9p. No appointment or referral is needed and when clinically appropriate, clients unable to come into the office will be offered in-home services.
