Advocacy at Catholic Charities, Trenton
Advocacy is an important part of the work of Catholic Charities; in fact, our mission statement names advocacy along with service and community building as the ways in which we serve our consumers. Advocacy recognizes that there is a story behind every issue, and a story behind every face. Advocacy allows us to speak on behalf of our consumers and most importantly to encourage our consumers to speak out for themselves. Advocacy, paired with the critical services we provide is a powerful tool of healing and change.
Want to get involved? It's easy!
Visit our online advocay system, Capwiz to sign up for and respond to Action Alerts. E-mails are usually sent a few times a month depending on the issues at hand. Capwiz is also a great source for information on legislation and legislators.
Join the Consumer Advocacy Network! Open to all staff and consumers who have an interest in the agency's advocacy work. Members meet only a few times a year to discuss advocacy efforts and plan special events. Netowrk members have the importnat job of promoting advocacy participation in their programs.
