Providence House Domestic Violence Services (PHDVS) of Catholic Charities provides comprehensive services for victims of domestic abuse and their children free of charge at outreach offices and emergency safehouses in Burlington and Ocean Counties. Providence House Domestic Violence Services assists victims of domestic abuse and their children with an array of services that include: emergency shelter, a 24 hour hotline, counseling services, a comprehensive children’s program, a parenting support group and a program specifically designed to assist victims age 50 and older. These services are offered at no cost to individuals and are invaluable to victims and their children who are struggling to break free from the cycle of violence in their homes.
These free and confidential services for victims of domestic violence rely upon the generosity of donors and volunteers. Being a part of our team is not only rewarding but life-changing. Help us to end the cycle of violence in our community today.
Providence House is one of the oldest and most comprehensive domestic violence providers in New Jersey and is accredited through the national Council on Accreditation. In Burlington County, PHDVS has been offering services for more than 30 years and for more than 25 in Ocean County.

Interested in helping victims of domestic violence?
Consider joining your local Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT).
Providence House Domestic Violence Services of Catholic Charities, in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, is currently recruiting volunteers for Domestic Violence Response Teams (DVRT) in both Burlington and Ocean Counties. Team members work in conjunction with the police to provide victim support, information, and referral at the time of a domestic violence crisis.
Applicants must be:
- 18 years of age
- Have access to transportation
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Be willing to serve a minimum of four 12-hour shifts per month
- Submit to background investigations, including fingerprinting
A 40-hour mandatory training course is required and will be provided to successful applicants. There is no fee for the course. An understanding of domestic violence issues is a plus, as is any bilingual capability.
In Burlington County, the training course will begin on September 6, 2014. The first class is on Saturday, but subsequent classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. For more information, contact Tiffany Rozelle at 856-824-0599, or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Mother's Day Donations
The mothers we are privileged to serve at Providence House Domestic Violence Services (PHDVS) of Catholic Charities seek to provide a safe and loving home for their children. PHDVS works diligently to provide them with the tools required to accomplish this goal. We believe that the mothers with whom we work deserve to be recognized for their efforts on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2014.

The Gift Auction is the most important fundraiser of the year for Providence House Domestic Violence Services (PHDVS) of Catholic Charities in Ocean County.
There are several ways for you to participate in this event: By attending the event, by becoming an event sponsor and by donating auction items or purchasing a raffle ticket.
Over 750 people are expected to attend the Gift Auction. All proceeds generated from the event help provide free and confidential services to domestic abuse victims and their children. (Your contribution is tax deductible as permitted by the IRS).
