Providence House Domestic Violence Services (PHDVS) of Catholic Charities provides comprehensive services for victims of domestic abuse and their children free of charge at outreach offices and emergency safehouses in Burlington and Ocean Counties. Providence House Domestic Violence Services assists victims of domestic abuse and their children with an array of services that include: emergency shelter, a 24 hour hotline, counseling services, a comprehensive children’s program, a parenting support group and a program specifically designed to assist victims age 50 and older. These services are offered at no cost to individuals and are invaluable to victims and their children who are struggling to break free from the cycle of violence in their homes.
These free and confidential services for victims of domestic violence rely upon the generosity of donors and volunteers. Being a part of our team is not only rewarding but life-changing. Help us to end the cycle of violence in our community today.
Providence House is one of the oldest and most comprehensive domestic violence providers in New Jersey and is accredited through the national Council on Accreditation. In Burlington County, PHDVS has been offering services for more than 30 years and for more than 25 in Ocean County.

The Jersey Shore Running Club will host its annual "Saturday in the Park 5K Run and Scenic 3-Mile Walk with Children's Races" on Saturday, August 30 at Holmdel Park in Holmdel, NJ. The event begins at 9 AM. Proceeds from the event will benefit Providence House Domestic Violence Services. 14th Annual Gift Auction Raises $63,000 for Providence House
Providence House Domestic Violence Services (PHDVS) of Catholic Charities is excited to announce that the 14th Annual Gift Auction -- held on June 6 -- raised $63,000!
Funds raised at this annual event support PHDVS’ free and confidential services in Ocean County. The event – which featured 400+ gifts, door prizes and multiple raffles -- was attended by more than 650 people.

Providence House Domestic Violence Services of Catholic Charities is currently in need of volunteers. Many opportunities are available, such as:
- assisting with the our major fundraiser events
- child care
- yard work
- donation management
- community affairs
- group donation drives
- group Days of Caring
Many of these volunteer opportunities are located at our Outreach Offices which are located in Delran and Whiting, NJ. Volunteering can be very rewarding, fun and a great way to make new friends.

Interested in helping victims of domestic violence?
Consider joining your local Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT).
Providence House Domestic Violence Services of Catholic Charities, in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, is currently recruiting volunteers for Domestic Violence Response Teams (DVRT) in both Burlington and Ocean Counties. Team members work in conjunction with the police to provide victim support, information, and referral at the time of a domestic violence crisis.
Applicants must be:
- 18 years of age
- Have access to transportation
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Be willing to serve a minimum of four 12-hour shifts per month
- Submit to background investigations, including fingerprinting
A 40-hour mandatory training course is required and will be provided to successful applicants. There is no fee for the course. An understanding of domestic violence issues is a plus, as is any bilingual capability.
In Burlington County, the training course will begin on September 6, 2014. The first class is on Saturday, but subsequent classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. For more information, contact Tiffany Rozelle at 856-824-0599, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
